As of December 15, 2020, OneMed has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the Swiss distributor SMEDICO. With this acquisition, OneMed’s growth journey continues into a new market – Switzerland – and strengthens both our market presence and knowledge in product areas such as wound care, incontinence and orthopedics.
This is an important acquisition for OneMed, by which we continue to build our role as the market consolidator of our market in Europe. This is the start of an exciting growth journey in the DACH region, says Johan Falk, CEO of OneMed
SMEDICO is an efficient distributor in the fragmented Swiss market with a strong market position in hospital and elderly care with great potential to grow further. Like OneMed, SMEDICO focuses on the customers’ needs with the objective to offer solutions which lowers the total cost-of-care with the highest quality. SMEDICO also has a factory and a line of products under the name OMNIMED that is sold in the Swiss market.
