One example is the work done by the legal and public affairs teams in partnership with the Global Health & Corporate Responsibility function to launch the Novartis Pandemic Response Portfolio, which provides 15 medicines used to treat COVID-19 at zero profit to governments, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and other institutional customers in up to 79 low- and middle-income countries.
Shannon is also a committed advocate of diversity and inclusion. In 2020, she set up an award-winning Preferred Firm Program that redefines the way Novartis works with law firms, further underscoring the business imperatives of driving diversity, equity and inclusion.
Shannon draws on extensive legal and compliance experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Novartis in 2011, she was a partner at a law firm in the US and held senior legal and compliance roles at US-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
